Ramallah: Israeli occupation forced Palestinians to leave their homes in Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm, at gunpoint, amid a tightened siege that has been imposed for 20 consecutive days.
Residents reported that the occupation continued its policy of forced displacement, particularly in Jabal Al Nasr neighborhood, forcing dozens to evacuate their homes immediately under heavy gunfire aimed at intimidating and terrorizing them.
They noted that Israeli forces deliberately raided homes in various neighborhoods of the camp, vandalizing their contents before converting some into military barracks and using them as sniper and surveillance posts.
Additionally, these forces set fire to several homes in Al Manshiya neighborhood, causing extensive destruction to infrastructure, roads, and both public and private properties.
Since the beginning of the Israeli assault, Nur Shams camp has witnessed a large-scale displacement, particularly among women, children, the elderly, and the sick.
The displacement has been concentrated in the neighborhoods of Al Manshiya, Al Maslach, Jabal Al Nasr, and Al Salihin, with more than 5,500 people fleeing to shelters and homes of relatives in the city, its suburbs, and surrounding villages.
This escalation comes as part of the ongoing aggression against the city of Tulkarm and its two refugee camps, Tulkarm and Nur Shams, for the 33rd consecutive day.
Large military reinforcements, including armored vehicles, bulldozers, and infantry units, continue to enforce the siege on both camps, with Israeli forces stationed along Nablus Street, taking over several residential buildings and turning them into military outposts.
