Nasser Al Qasabi
A Saudi Arabian court sentenced a preacher for insulting famous Saudi actor Nasser Al Qasabi. According to Al Arabiya the preacher in Asir, Saudi Arabia, was sentenced to to prison for 45 days after he was found guilty of libel and defamation for calling Qasabi an “infidel” and a “cuckold.”
According to the Al Arabiya report the judge also made the convict pledge that he will never commit such an act again.
The preacher called the actor an “infidel” during a Friday sermon while criticizing an episode of the series Selfie which was aired during Ramadan.
In the episode Qasabi was seen wearing a short garment and smashing musical instruments.
Reacting to the news of sentencing the Qasabi said: “A verdict such as this represents the courage of the judiciary to deal with the phenomenon of atonement.”
