DOHA: Ambassadors of Asian and other countries met at a dinner meeting hosted by the Indonesian envoy at his residence.
Deddy Saiful Hadi and his wife Endang Ratiningsih Hadi hosted the dinner for Asian Ambassadors’ Group on November 24.
The group consists of 21 ambassadors from Asia and is chaired by Malaysian Ambassador Dato Ahmed Jazri Mohd Johar with Deddy as Vice-Chairman.
According to a statement issued yesterday, the chairmanship is decided by an ambassador’s seniority based on when he presented his credentials here.
Deddy also invited several non-Asian ambassadors from different continents and groups, including the Middle East, Africa, Europe and America.
Several prominent expatriates such as doctors and businessmen also attended.
Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs H E Mohamed Abdullah Al Rumaihi and Ambassador Ibrahim Fakhroo, Director of Protocol at the Foreign Ministry, were Guests of Honour.
Some 70 guests attended the event where Deddy said the aim was to strengthen relations within the group and their relationship with ambassadors from other regions of the world and with dignitaries and businessmen and doctors.
