Doha: The number of new driving licenses issued in October increased by 5.3 percent compared to September 2021, said the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
The PSA also said that there is an increase in total traffic violations and total traffic accidents, at a monthly rate of 15.1 percent and 17 percent, respectively compared to September 2021.
This information came in "Qatar; Monthly Statistics", which is released on a monthly basis.
One of the prominent changes in this issue is the increase in total deposits and total credit at an annual rate of 10.2 percent and 7.4 percent, respectively compared to October 2020.
There is also an increase in total Qatari live births and total non- Qatari live births at a monthly rate of 5.3 percent and 11.1 percent, respectively compared to September 2021.
Moreover, October 2021 has experienced a monthly increase of 6.6 percent in marriage contracts while the total number of divorce certificates decreased by 23.5 percent. The total number of marriage contracts was 387, whereas the number of divorces reached 163 cases.
Total electricity consumption during October 2021 was 4,570.3 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 10.3 percent and an annual increase of 10.0 percent. While the total water consumption has reached 57805.7 thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 0.6 percent and an annual decrease of 3.1 percent.
As for the banking sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR611.5 Billion during October 2021, an annual increase of 4.9 percent compared with October 2020. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR965.5 billion during October 2021. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 10.2 percent compared to October 2020, when deposits recorded approximately QR875.7 billion.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 685 permits during October 2021, recording a monthly decrease of 6.9 percent and an annual decrease of 6.3 percent.
The total number of registered new vehicles during October 2021 has reached 6,771 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 8.4 percent and an annual increase of 19.3 percent.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 714 traffic cases were recorded during October 2021, showing a monthly increase of 17.0 percent and an annual increase by 33.7 percent.
Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 91 percent, followed by severe injuries by 6 percent. However, 19 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 3 percent of total traffic accidents cases.
