Basel, Switzerland: The Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 2015 Handball World Championships, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani has said that Doha is ready to organise the Handball World Championship which would be the best in the championship history.

The meeting, held at the IHF headquarters in Basel, Switzerland recently, was attended by the Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee. The President of Qatar Handball Federation (QHF) and the Championship Executive Director Ahmed Mohammed Al Shaabi, QHF Secretary-General Mohammad Jaber and several officials also attended the meeting at the International Handball Federation headquarters in Switzerland.

During the meeting, Sheikh Joaan presented an outline detailing the organising committee’s vision to Dr Moutsfa and members of the executive office.

The organising committee will also be aiming to learn from the upcoming championship in Spain that takes place from 11 to January 27 this year, in what would be the 23rd edition of the prestigious Handball competition.

During the 2013 competition, Qatar will also be competing, having been grouped with Algeria, Tunisia and South Korea.

Qatar qualified for the event having been a finalist in the 2012 Asian Championship.
