Doha: President of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah offered Monday his congratulations to the State of Qatar after their rider Mohammed Abu Issa was chosen as one of the top three cross country riders for 2015 in the quad category.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency, Al Attiyah expressed his delight at Abu Issa's achievement, adding that QMMF expected more achievements from the young rider in the future. Al Attiyah, who is also the Vice President of Federation International de L'Automobile (FIA), said that Abu Issa's rise in 2015 was rapid as the rider won the World Cup for Cross Country Rallies at youth level, and came in second place overall.
Furthermore, Abu Issa won the Abu Dhabi rally, Pharaohns rally and came in second at the Sealine Cross Country Rally. The highlights of his performances however was coming fourth at Rally Dakar.
Concluding, Al Attiyah expressed his pride at having a talent like Abu Issa's representing the State of Qatar. The FIA Vice-President stressed his belief that the Qatari rider will become a world champion one day.
