Moscow: Russian energy company Gazproms gas production decreased in 2022 by 20 percent to 412.6 billion cubic meters, compared to that of the previous year standing at 514.8 billion cubic meters.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said today that his company produced 412.6 billion cubic meters of gas last year, adding that the company is preparing for the winter season and the peak consumption season.

He said that the company has filled storage facilities to the record levels of about 72.662 billion cubic meters.

In addition, the supply from the gas transmission system to the domestic market, according to operating data, amounted to 243 billion cubic meters of gas last year.

Miller explained that the company built gas pipelines to more than 450 residential areas last year, especially in villages and towns, pointing out that by the end of 2022, more than half a million Russian families in residential areas benefited from gas delivery.

In another context, Miller confirmed that the company’s exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (former Soviet Union countries) amounted to 100.9 billion cubic meters of gas last year, or less than 45.5 percent, compared to the previous year.

Russian gas is now being supplied to Europe through one of the two entry points to the gas transmission system in Ukraine and through Türkiye, transported through the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines.
