IndiGo to start Doha flights from May 5

Doha: Indigo will kick off their Doha operations with daily non-stop flights from New Delhi and Mumbai from May 5, 2017. They are expected to fly to more aiports in Indian soon.

The Delhi- Doha flight (6E-1701) will depart Delhi at 1.30 and will arrive here at 3.30 and one-way fare will start from QR 1012 (Rs 18,888) excluding airport charges and taxes, a statement from the airlines said.

The Doha-Delhi flight (6E-1702) will depart at 13.30 and will arrive in Delhi at 20:00.

The Mumbai- Doha flight (6E-1708) will depart Mumbai at 11.20 and will arrive here at 12.30 and one-way fare will start from QR 803 (Rs 14,999) excluding airport charges and taxes.

The Doha-Mumbai flight (6E-1709) will depart at 4.30 and will arrive in Mumbai at 10:20.

The airline website has already started taking reservation for the same from May 5.

The new flights are expected to offer some solace to the thousands of Indian expatriates who travel home during summer. Usually during school holidays, when large number of families travel to India, the fares shoot up. The arrival of IndiGo is expected to make the fares more competitive.

We had earlier reported that Indigo will start flights to 6 airports in India from Doha.

It was reported that they will kick off the services from April second week, but now the airlines has officially announced that they will start operation from May 5.

The other routes are expected to start in the near future.

IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier, announced Doha as its 7th international and 46th overall destination.

 

Commenting on the new flight launch, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said, “Being an economic and cultural hub of Qatar, Doha attracts a lot of business and leisure tourists. Adding Doha on our network is in line with our growth strategy and more so for the Middle-East. IndiGo has established itself as a preferred carrier on India-Gulf routes. We are hopeful that this daily service would also prove equally popular with our flyers.”

With Doha as a new destination, IndiGo is all set to enhance connectivity between India and the Gulf region after Dubai, Muscat and Sharjah.  

With the increased flow of tourists and business traffic on the India-Gulf route, IndiGo recently launched two new non-stop daily flights to Sharjah and an additional flight to Muscat in a bid to consolidate its position in the Middle-East market.
