DOHA: Fans will have the chance to meet Filipino actor Robin Padilla (pictured) at a cultural and entertainment show tonight at West End Park.
Organised by MoneyGram, ‘Marhaba Robin’ is a free show for the public and promises fun and excitement for all Padilla fanatics in Qatar. The multi-faceted actor, director and martial artist has starred in over 60 films in his career spanning more than three decades. Padilla, who comes from a family of actors and politicians, rose to prominence in 1980s and 1990s starring in blockbuster action films such as Bad Boy; Maging Sino Ka Man; and Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum. The show is part of his tour of the Middle East, presented by MoneyGram money transfer he is endorsing.
Last night, Padilla met fans who won a MoneyGram promotion at a meet and greet dinner event at the Torch Hotel. The promotion was held by MoneyGram in which the first 50 winners will each get an opportunity to have dinner with the star, while the next 100 winners will each get one VIP ticket for the show in addition to a selfie with him.
Padilla thanked Filipinos in Qatar for using MoneyGram in sending money to families in the Philippines, which he said, has made his trip to Qatar possible. “I would like to thank all of you for hard work and sacrifices working abroad. Your remittances have helped sustain the Philippine economy,” he said, adding his visit is MoneyGram’s way of giving back to them. Gate opens at 4pm and the show starts at 7pm.
