Doha, Qatar: Ambassador of China to Qatar H E Cao Xiaolin has said that under the strategic guidance of the leaderships of the two countries, China-Qatar relations have achieved rapid and comprehensive development.
He said that the mutual trust between the two sides is deepening and they support each other to explore a development path that suits national conditions. “The mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries has made fruitful achievements,” said the Ambassador.
Xiaolin was speaking in a reception hosted by the Embassy of China in Doha yesterday to encourage the cultural exchange between Chinese and Qatari students. The event gathered Qatari students studying Chinese, Chinese students studying in Qatar and other young people to exchange dialogue.
Cultural performances were also presented to enhance mutual knowledge and pass on friendship between peoples of two countries.
“China is Qatar’s largest trading partner and the largest destination for Qatar’s LNG exports. The two countries maintain communication and coordination on many international and regional issues to safeguard common interests,” said the Ambassador.
He added: “It can be said that Chinese-Qatari relations have become a model of friendly cooperation between countries with different social systems and economic sizes.”
The Ambassador said that China and Qatar have achieved the miracle of rapid economic development and the miracle of long-term social stability over the past decades.
“In the process of creating the two miracles, the two countries accumulate common or similar experiences, namely, first, the political system that suits the national conditions is built, providing a strong guarantee for the permanent security of the country.
“Second, the long-term development strategy plan that suits the local reality is drawn up, and the whole country makes joint efforts to achieve these goals. Third, attention is paid to consecrating the excellent traditional culture and building up the great cohesive force of the nation,” said Xiaolin.
He added: “These valuable experiences will continue to provide favorable conditions for our friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation. I am certain that the strategic partnership will advance into the “new golden decade”.
He said that in 2014, Chinese President H E Xi Jinping and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani decided to define China-Qatar relations as strategic partnership, opening up the “golden decade” of friendly cooperation between the two countries.
“The Middle East is now experiencing a new round of conflict and unrest. Since October last year, more than 40,000 Gazans have lost their lives due to war. Now, all Gazans are facing the threat of famine,” said Xiaolin.
He added: “We can only ask: What happened in the world? When can lasting stability be achieved in the Middle East? And how can we do it?” The Ambassador said that the current international situation has shown that the opportunities and challenges facing human development are unprecedented.
“On how to solve the problems we face together, the international community has put forward many solutions and made efforts to crystallize the basic consensus. “The Chinese solution is to build a community with a shared future for mankind to achieve win-win and share,” said Xiaolin. He said that language is the most important and direct tool for cultural exchange and both Chinese civilization and Arab civilization are important parts of world civilization.
“The extensive and in-depth exchanges between the two excellent cultures will build broad bridges of friendly cooperation between China and Arab countries, and will bring benefits to peoples of all countries, so as to make contribution to human civilization and social progress,” said Xiaolin.
