Doha, Qatar: Following confirmation from Real Madrid that French forward Karim Benzema will leave the club at the end of the season, another news that is doing rounds is that he will head to Saudi next week to prepare for his move to club there.

This was confirmed by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who tweeted "Karim Benzema, invited to Saudi next week in order to prepare his move to Al Ittihad as new star of Arabian league."

He further added that the announcement is expected next week if all goes to plan — it could be Wednesday.

Earlier in the day Real in a statement had announced that "Real Madrid and our captain Karim Benzema have agreed to end his brilliant and unforgettable period as a player at our club."
