The Social Responsibility Committee of Dar Al Sharq announced that the 8th Social Responsibility Conference and Awards will be held tomorrow (April 6).

“The edition of social responsibility this year has been devoted to honouring government figures, private institutions and individuals who have played a prominent role in the battle against coronavirus last year. The honouring ceremony will be held remotely due to the existing health measures,” said Jaber Salem Al Harami, Deputy CEO of Dar Al Sharq Group.

The committee has selected 16 entities to be honoured with Social Responsibility Awards for the year 2020, including the health, education, security, media, and commercial and aviation sectors, in addition to the banking, corporate and other sectors.

Speaking at a virtual press conference held by the Social Responsibility Committee of Dar Al Sharq on Saturday, Deputy CEO of Dar Al Sharq Group noted, “The committee works to highlight the societal role that the government and private institutions have played, as it addresses the spread of the coronavirus pandemic by protecting its workers and employees, or protecting society from the spread of this pandemic, pointing to the importance of highlighting these efforts and honouring the people behind them.”

The press conference was attended by Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi, Director of Public Relations and Communication at Kahramaa as well as Dr. Mohamed Althaf, Director of Lulu Group International. Al Harami said that the social responsibility conference cum awards have been held since 2013 with the support of number of other bodies.

“There is a growing awareness over the past years of the importance of social responsibility and participation in it.” For his part, the Director of Lulu Group International said, “We are happy with this participation and support for this conference, and it is our duty to provide support to this category that has served a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic and which is still going on. We will continue to support all that we see serves the community." Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi said Kahramaa, as one of the sponsors of the conference, provided great support in this aspect. “Kahramaa has a great contribution to social responsibility.

Despite its services in all areas in the country, it has not forgotten its environmental and social role.” Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy & Business Development at Qatar Rail (the golden sponsor of the Social Responsibility Conference), thanked Dar Al Sharq for organising this conference, which sheds light on a very important topic for all companies and institutions during this period. “We are pleased to announce the participation of Qatar Rail and support the 8th Social Responsibility Conference as a golden sponsor, along with a number of the most important institutions and companies. We hope, by participating in the conference, we can highlight the important role companies played in facing the coronavirus pandemic.”
