Cultural extravaganza at the Ideal Indian School

Doha: Ideal Indian School celebrated its 31st Annual Day with a lot of colour and gaiety showcasing the magnificent cultural performance by the students of Kindergarten, Junior, Girls and Boys Sections.

Director of Public Health Dr Mohamed Bin Hamad J Al Thani and First Secretary of Embassy of India Dinesh Udenia graced the occasion as Chief Guests. School President Dr Hassan Kunhi MP, Principal Syed Shoukath Ali and Heads of Section were present on the occasion. BV Narayana, the designer of motor cycles for the physically handicapped people also attended the function.

In his keynote address Dr Mohamed Bin Hamad J Al Thani lauded the Indian expatriate community for their notable contribution to the development of state of Qatar. Udenia urged the students to use their knowledge and wisdom in a right combination in the practical world.

Headmistress of Junior Section and Economics Teacher Shobhana Menon, who was conferred CBSE Best Teacher Award, was also felicitated on the occasion.

The Annual Day at Ideal Indian School is also an occasion to honour the students for their outstanding performance in CBSE examinations every year. Gold and Silver medals were awarded to the school rank holders and individual subject toppers in classes 10 and 12 examinations held in March 2015.

The day featured a spectacular cultural extravaganza titled “Over the Rainbow”. About 2000 students from all four sections mesmerised the audience with their enthralling stage show.  The cultural fiesta comprised of a variety of programmes including dances- classical, folk, western, fusion, contemporary dances,  songs, mime, musical and scintillating multi-lingual dramas.

Senior teachers and support staff were honoured for their meritorious service with gold medals and certificates.
