The Cultural Friends Center organised cultural and scientific competitions for improving the emerging talents’ abilities, in which more than 2,600 students from fifteen Indian schools participated in the competition.
The competition areas included photography, painting, Jigsaw Puzzles, clay designs, pencil drawing, poetry reciting, reading texts, public speaking, memory tests, speed-reading, imitating animal sounds, and others. The centre have classified students into six categories according to their age.
Ali Algharib, PR Manager and director of QC Community Development Center, said; “QC seeks to establish the bonds of cooperation and cultural interaction between members of different communities in Qatar. Therefore, the centre organised different cultural and scientific competitions to develop the capacities of talented persons at the Indian School, Dar es Salam in Barwa Village, in the participation of more than 2,600 students from 15 Indian schools in Qatar”.
Algharib said that the Cultural Friends Center continues to provide the necessary support for public events for the communities in order to contribute to the integration of communities in the Qatari society, adding that the Center is making tremendous efforts to organise events and cultural and scientific student competitions that lead to the development and refinement of emerging talents.
Habib Alrahman, director of Cultural Friends Center, said; “The competitions were launched at 8am and lasted until 9pm. A large number of parents participated in the event. 500 volunteers also participated in the competition that was conducted in more than 20 classrooms”.
Habib noted that the celebration will be held later and certificates and prizes will be presented to participants and winners of the competition, including traveling tickets to India. The centre prepares to conduct the sixth annual women competition in December in sewing, embroidery, henna, crafts and culinary arts.
The students’ parents praised the centre’s efforts in organising events and competitions and expressed their sincere thanks to Qatar Charity for supervising and managing the competition.
