Doha: Within the framework of its occupational security, health and safety policy, Mowasalat (Karwa) held a mock drill on its fire prevention system during working hours.
Mowasalat believes in the importance of training in fire prevention equipment and personnel to ensure security and safety at work place, increase awareness among employees to understand and comply with the policy and periodical advice to be responsible for safety of human life and property from hazards.
The PR Department also gathers employees’ comments on the importance of fire exercises.
Khalid Nasser Al Hail, CEO, Mowasalat, said implementation of requirements, measures and objectives of occupational security, health and safety is an ethical and legal obligation in accordance with International Labour Organisation standards to avoid injuries, accidents, crises and risks.
Strict adherence to the occupational security, safety and health system is the only way to keep employees away from risks, which can occur if measures and requirements are not implemented.
Regular training and awareness programmes about occupational security, safety and health enhance safe working and enrich human concepts in the work environment, he added.
Nasser Al Khanji, Director of the Executive Office, praised such drills and said Mowasalat understands occupational security, safety and health, realises the importance of drills and implementation of their objectives in work environment, out of its belief that the human element is the most precious for the company.
Khalid Hassan Kafoud, PR and Communications Manager also praised such drills that enhance outcomes of awareness programmes and training planned according to the safety and fire prevention mission.
The HSSE team educates employees, implements HSSE policy, ensure the work place is safe and protects the company’s property and inventory, said HSSE Manager Idris Said Jaaber.
