Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of Private Schools Affairs, in cooperation with Al Arqam Academy for Girls, organised a workshop on international exams, through video conference.
This comes within the framework of the recent preparations for the Private Education Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the participation of private schools in the PISA test 2021.
At the beginning of the workshop, the consultant at the Department of Private Schools Affairs and a member of the International Examinations Committee Ilham Al Qayed, praised the efforts of private schools in the educational field, and results they achieved in the field of education in general, and in the field of international examinations in particular.
She stressed the importance of international tests that reflect the effectiveness of the curricula applied in basic skills, methods of teaching and application, and that their results constitute a benchmark for evaluating the educational systems of the participating countries, stressing the use of all capabilities and tools to create awareness about the importance of these tests.
The workshop also dealt with educational efforts with all parties to the educational process, and how to communicate with parents (being essential partners in the educational process), informing them about the nature of international tests and their importance, and their role in cooperation with the Academy, to motivate children to participate seriously in these tests.
