Doha: Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Tijan Ahmed are taking part in the FIVB Beach Volleyball Tournament, which started in Gstad yesterday.
The Olympic-bound duo kicked off the event with a 21-11, 21-14 victory over Swiss duo Quentin Metral and Yves Haussener. In their second group match yesterday, they fell to Dutch pair of Stefan Boermans and Yorick De Groot, who won the match with a 22-20, 12-21, 11-15 score-line.
The Qatar side is placed in Group C of the Tokyo Olympics beach volleyball event.
