Fashion has played a significant role in Qatar’s rapid rise as a global shopping, leisure, and luxury destination, and as the country is inches towards the World Cup, visiting fans and the public can enjoy an array of fashion exhibitions and programmes at M7 located in Msheireb.

M7 is the country’s epicentre for innovation and entrepreneurship in design, fashion and tech. In a recent press conference, its Director Maha Ghanim Al Sulaiti said M7 seeks to meet the needs of fashion market during the World Cup.

Currently, M7 is holding various exhibitions, latest of which is Valentino Forever. Running until April 1, 2023, it is the largest Valentino exhibit and the first presented in the Middle East.

The exhibition is designed to provide a broad panoramic view of the history of the Maison, integrated in scenography reflecting the Eternal City. More than 200 Valentino Haute Couture garments and pret-à-porter outfits, together with accessories and fashion items shown in an immersive scenography, are featured.

The centre also supports local talents through holding exhibits and various programmes. It is currently holding an exhibit by Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah. Her latest show Anassir (Elements) marks her second solo show in Doha. Through large scale articulations for an immersive experience of mixed media work, the exhibit presents a passage through her latest artworks series, ‘Fataraat’, (Phases) and the breathtaking tapestry.

Al Sulaiti said that M7, which was established by Qatar Museums, is a hub for empowering talents in the field of fashion and other related areas. “We focus in providing support for those who have creative approaches and the same time address different means of collaboration, support [creative individuals] and ensure to make their ideas to reality.”

M7 is part of Baraha Zone of Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), just in front of Baraha Msheireb which will hold various activities and live screening of World Cup matches.

Msheireb Properties has lined up various festivities in time for the biggest tournament of the world. It has divided the MDD into three sections: Baraha Zone, Heritage Zone, and Sikka Zone where it will host social and entertainment events before and during the tournament.
