DOHA: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will provide guided tours of Darb Al Saie throughout Qatar National Day celebrations from today to December 20, QTA officials announced yesterday.
Organised in collaboration with Qatar National Day Organizing Committee, the tours will go to Darb Al Saie on board the Doha Bus, departing from key landmarks including Souq Waqif, Aspire Park, Sheraton Park and The Pearl-Qatar. A team of tour guides will receive visitors at Darb Al Saie to show them around the various activities, and explain the significance of each in the context of Qatar’s history, traditions, and heritage.
Buses will depart from their stops every day at 7am, 9am, 3pm, 5pm and 7.15pm.
QTA has put up an interactive stand at Darb Al Saie showcasing the recently launched Qatar Destination Brand and its accompanying bespoke photography and film.
“The process of developing the Qatar destination brand began on Qatar National Day 2013, with the launch of the #MyQatar campaign, and we are delighted to return to where it all began and celebrate the results with all of Qatar’s residents,” said QTA PR & Communications Director Faisal bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi.
Using the outcome of the #MyQatar campaign as the basis, QTA has developed the destination brand in line with both Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Sector Strategy.
As part of celebrations QTA encourages hotels to decorate their rooms and reception areas in maroon and white, and to ask their staff to wear national dress.
