DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce in collaboration with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) conducted a series of surprise raids at a number of hotels and apartment hotels across the city. Fines were imposed on several erring facilities.
The inspectors conducted a total of 18 raids in Al Dafna, Unaizah, Al Qatifah and The Pearl during which five violations were detected. The violations varied from using expired commercial permits to providing unlicensed services to customers. Inspectors issued three notices obliging hotels to renew their commercial permits, said a statement yesterday.
The ministry has urged all establishments to abide by the laws and regulations governing commercial permits to avoid being subjected to legal action. It has also called on the public to report any complaints through Hotline: 16001, Twitter@MEC_QATAR, Instagram: mec_qatar, Email: [email protected].
