DOHA: Al Rayyan’s firepower proved too much to handle for Al Ahli as the league and Qatar Cup champions coasted to a 104-71 win yesterday.
Ngombo Tanguy Alban scored 30 points and managed 4 assists to sparkle for Al Rayyan who also benefited from contributions from Raffa Anthony Joseph (20 points and 5 assists) and Mohamed Mohamed Hassan (19 points and 2 assists).
Matalkeh Abduallah Shaher and Hill Lawrence scored 9 points each in the easy win.
Musa Yasseen Ismail scored 6 points for Al Rayyan.
For Al Ahli, Ibou Sarr (28 points, 11 rebounds),Terrence Lavalle Joyner Junior (21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists) and Ndoye Elhadj Seydou (18 points, seven rebounds) were the notable contributors.
In the day’s first game, hosts Al Gharafa crushed Qatar SC 79-57.
