The QRCS in Niger recently handed over 25 social housing units to the recipient families in Koré Sania.
Doha, Qatar: As part of a residential construction project for poor families in Niger, the representation office of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) in Niger recently handed over 25 social housing units to the recipient families in Koré Sania, a village located about 10 kilometres away from Fillingué Department, Tillabéri Tillabéri Region.
The purpose of the project was to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries and secure decent and safe homes for them and their children.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Fillingué governor, head of department, head of municipality, Koré Sania mayor, and other local government officials. They thanked QRCS and the Qatari government for their efforts to support poor people in Niger, calling upon all donors to continue to provide humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable communities there.
Comprising 25 social housing units, a mosque, and a water well, the new village was totally funded and constructed by QRCS. A total of 53 beneficiaries were selected, including widows, female breadwinners, older breadwinners, families that lost their homes during last year’s flash floods, and persons with disabilities.
