A family breaks fast at ‘Fast-a-thon’, a charity event organised by Hyatt Plaza and Qatar Charity.
DOHA: Hyatt Plaza and Qatar Charity organised on June 1 the 9th edition of ‘Fast-a-thon’, a charity event aimed to invite non-Muslims to experience fasting for one day during the holy month of Ramadan to support a noble cause which provides eyeglasses for needy children with visual impairments inside Qatar.
The mission of ‘Fast-a-thon’ 2018 was to create real communication between civilisations by giving non-Muslims a true understanding of what Ramadan spirit is and give them the opportunity to be a part of a noble cause.
This year, more than 200 non-Muslims participated in the 9th edition of ‘Fast-a-thon’. In return Hyatt Plaza and Qatar Charity have pledged to donate QR200 on behalf of every person who registered and fasted during this event to buy eyeglasses for needy children with visual impairments.
To celebrate this event, Hyatt Plaza and Qatar Charity has held an Iftar party on 2nd June 2018 for the participants, allowing them to meet each other and share their fasting experience. Consequently, this event will promote the universal values of brotherhood, social solidarity and empathy between all religions.
Hyatt Plaza and Qatar Charity succeeded in attracting the charitable hearts during Ramadan to participate and support their noble project which target groups in need inside the country.
