Doha, Qatar: There are quite a few indoor activities and workshops happening in and around Doha this weekend. Also this is the last weekend before indoor adventure at InflataCity winds up.  

Before you head out, here is a note of caution; the weather department has warned that the heatwave this Friday will be severe. So be sun smart and stay indoors during day time. When heading out wear sun screen and light coloured clothes and stay hydrated. Happy weekend!

Discovery of black gold in Qatar

National Museum of Qatar is organising a guided tour in English and Arabic to help visitors aged 16 and above learn about Qatar's historical legacy. It talks about the turning point in history when oil was discovered and the unprecedented development between 1970s and 2000s. Register here

Beyond the Frame: Youth Animation Workshop

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art 

The workshop provides a hands-on introduction to the techniques involved in creating stop motion animated films. Participants will engage in theoretical discussions, practical exercises, and screenings of short stop-motion animated films to gain a deeper appreciation of storytelling and animation. Enter the beautiful artistic mind of Mohamed Melehi, a giant of Arab visual art that drew attention to the differences in the dynamic views of a Western artist and those of an Arab artist. The artist’s seminal work titled “Blue Moon,” inspired by the landscape of his birth town of Asilah, Moroccan coast, is currently on display in the permanent collection galleries at Mathaf.
