Doha: Qatar Airways has announced that it will resume outbound passenger services from two South African destinations starting December 12, 2021.
The airline stated that it will resume services from Johannesburg and Cape Town starting Dec 12. It will have double-daily flights from Johannesburg and daily from Cape Town to our global network via Doha.
Due to the emergence of the new COVID-19 Omicron variant, Qatar Airways had announced flight restrictions on November 27, from seven destinations - Luanda (LAD), Angola; Maputo (MPM), Mozambique; Johannesburg (JNB), Capetown (CPT), Durban (DUR), South Africa; Lusaka (LUN), Zambia; and Harare (HRE), Zimbabwe.
The airline had then stated that it will continue to review the situation on a daily basis and will resume services on the basis of guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO).
