Doha: Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has removed the Tweet saying Tuesday is the first of day Ramadan and put out a new tweet saying they will re-examine the sighting of the crescent moon of Ramadan tomorrow, Monday.
The Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs had earlier announced that crescent moon was not sighted today.
This came in a statement issued by the Committee after its meeting this evening at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, chaired by Dr Sheikh Thaqeel Al Shammari.
Awqaf Ministry had earlier tweeted that tomorrow, Monday April 12, 2021 AD, will be the completion of the month of Shaaban 1442 AH, and on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 is the first of the blessed month of Ramadan 1442 H, which they later removed.
“The committee met today, and since it has not been proven that the month of Shaban has entered the evening of the 29th of Rajab, today no one has come forward to testify. Accordingly, the committee decided to continue its work, and to re-examine the vision tomorrow,” they tweeted.
