Doha: A pedestrian bridge is getting ready on E-Ring road. Ashghal is building the bridge to ease the problem of pedestrians to cross this busy road. This is expected to help the traffic and will reduce causalities and injuries due to road accidents in this area.

Construction work is going on and the major part of installing the overhead bridge is over. The road is now open for vehicular traffic after the closure for three days to install the overhead bridge.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment had announced towards the end of last year that it will construct 15 pedestrian bridges in different places in Qatar, in coordination with roads department of the Ministry of Transport.

They had also mentioned that the bridges will be equipped with shops, restaurants, toilets, ATMs and electric elevators.

Ashghal had put in place a temporary closure on E-Ring Road in both directions, between Airport Street and Al Thumama Intersection, in order to install the pedestrian bridge as part of the Interim upgrade of E-Ring Road and Najma Street project.

The closure lasted three days and now the road is open for vehicular traffic.
