2,500 kg meat with fake expiry date destroyed

DOHA: Municipality officials destroyed 2,500kg of meat with fake expiry date.

In a raid conducted by the Health Monitoring Section of Doha Municipality, the officials confiscated 2,500kg of meat with fake expiry dates from a store in Industrial Area.

During the raid they found that the people in the store were changing the date of expiry of the meats with a new one. 

Violators were caught in the act and this is a violation of law number 8 of 1990, which regulates human food control.

The meat was destroyed by the officials and the case was transferred to concerned authorities for further action.
