DOHA: The Pearl-Qatar, United Development Company’s (UDC) flagship project and one of the largest urban developments in Qatar, offered a memorable Eid Al Fitr experience to residents and visitors with an exciting line-up of family-oriented events and activities from July 6 until July 8.
The Eid celebrations at The Pearl Qatar are a social initiative that was launched by UDC to bring together people from diverse communities and cultures. This year’s Eid activities was built on a successful track record of previous family events which have witnessed a huge turnout and many happy faces catering fun to the community while reflecting Qatar’s genuine heritage and deep rooted culture.
Throughout the three days of Eid activities, hundreds of families and visitors enjoyed a rich entertainment program in Medina Centrale’s indoor arena of Souq Al Medina featuring a range of family and children recreational activities that appealed to all ages and interests. These included game booths, a drawing and colouring station, stilt walkers, face painting, clowns, balloon twisting and decorations, mascots and much more… in addition to distribution of popcorn, cotton candy and ice-cream. In addition, the Eid shopping bazaar “Al Maqtoora”, gave residents and visitors the opportunity to spend quality time with their families.
“Al Maqtoora” Market Bazaar which was located in Souq Al Medina, side by side with the main event, was one of several ways UDC and The Pearl-Qatar partnered with local entrepreneurs by giving them a platform to promote their businesses. Organised by Bedaya Center, which supports Qatari start-ups, “Al Maqtoora” exhibited food, fashion items, perfumes, jewellery, accessories, drawings and creative designs.
Also, as an iconic site of Qatar, The Pearl-Qatar offered residents and visitors unmatched shopping, dining and leisure experiences, making the Island a unique retail and entertainment hub in Qatar that plays a key role in driving tourism to the country especially during Eid holidays.
