Ideal Indian School observed 144th birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi as the International Day for Peace and Non-Violence. Events were held in all the sections of the school where teachers and students highlighted Gandhi’s philosophy of life. Special morning assembly held in all section in which students took a pledge to make the world a peaceful place to live in.
In her keynote address Dr Leelamma Joseph, acting principal, exhorted the students to follow the path of non-violence through mutual cooperation and patience. Dr Khurshid Alam Salar, Vice Principal, Boys Section commended the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and highlighted the achievements of Gandhiji, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King through the path of non-violence.
Songs and Tableaus depicting the moments of life and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi. A documentary film “Gandhi- Pilgrim of Peace” was also screened on the occasion.
