LG unveiled world’s largest and slimmest 55-inch OLED TV during an event at the LG booth at GITEX Shopper.

“Recognised in August by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) with a Silver International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) and recently honoured with the European Display Achievement award by The EISA Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the home entertainment industry, this OLED TV is the culmination of years of research and development at LG, the company behind the world’s first commercialized 15-inch OLED TV three years ago.”

Unlike LCD or LED displays which require backlights, OLED TVs generate their own light, eliminating the need for backlighting. Thanks to the advanced external composition of LG OLED TV’s casing, the final product has a thickness of only 4mm and weighs a nominal 10kg, bringing the Paper Slim design philosophy to fruition. Integrating LG’s gorgeous CI-NEMA SCREEN Design with its barely visible bezel gives the OLED TV an ultra-modern, minimal profile that reduces visual distractions, helping deliver a truly immersive 3D view-ing experience.

“In the history of television, there have been very few innovations as impactful as the coming of OLED TV,” said D Y Kim, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

“We say ‘The Ultimate Display’ when describing this TV because the picture is truly Above all Expectations and Beyond everyone’s Imagination. This year, we plan to make OLED synonymous with LG.”

Video Home & Jumbo Electronics Director & General Manager, C V Rappai, Mohammad Anis- AGM- LG  in  Video home, Qatar were also present at the event where world’s largest 84” Ultra High definition TV and 55” OLED was launched. Both these models will be available in Qatar market by November, as per Officials present at the event.
