The Ministry of Municipality opened four winter vegetable markets, yesterday. These four yards are Al Wakra, Al Khor & Al Thakhira, Al Shamal, and Al Sheehaniya.

The markets enable farmers to sell their produce directly to the customers without middlemen so they can get good yields for their hard work and investments.

The opening was attended by Yousof Khalid Al Khulaifi, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry and Ahmed Al Yafei, Head of the Section of Agricultural Guidance and Services.

A variety of vegetables from farms including cucumber, zucchini, pumpkin, beans, eggplant, mint, and coriander displayed at the markets yesterday.

The work is progressing at Al Mazrouah yard, which will open on November 18, 2021, in its new location in Umm Salal Central Market
