The main attractions at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE) are the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 inspired jewellery, pens and notebooks, serving as a collectible for football fans as the country becomes the first Arab nation to host the competition.

The collection is specially-designed for the football competition happening in November and Al Majed Jewellery has been appointed as the official licensed luxury jewellery and accessories for the 22nd FIFA World Cup. The spirit of the World Cup is evident upon entering one of the two entrances of Al Majed Jewellery pavilion as it displays its collectible and a soccer field flooring.

The jewellery collection includes ring, silver key holder, silver pen holder stand, silver pen stand, bangle, bracelet, earrings, necklace, necklace with emblem pendant, Qatari Sadaf (shell), and cufflinks. Prices range from QR1,000 to  QR54,500.

Writing accessories made by Italian brand Pininfarina is showcasing a wide range of pens, notebooks and notepad.

Pininfarina International Sales Manager, Andrea Tritapepe told The Peninsula: “We pay a lot of attention and details to the design of the pen. We want to place in the market something really new, amazing and different.”

There are five types of pens Pininfarina made with an engraved logo of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 — ballpoint pen, rollerball pen, fountain pen, diamond inkless pen with gold plated finishing and the Ethergraf tip pen.

“We studied these types of pens especially for the FIFA. And you can see the logo in each pen,” Tritapepe said.

“We took inspiration from the special technique of the silver tip used by Leonardo da Vinci, and as a result, Ethergraf was born. The pen tells a story 500 years ago, and the design is limitless,” Tritapepe explained. Ethergraf tip microscopically ‘scratches’ paper, oxidising it and thus leaving a light but precise mark.

“The ballpoint pen has a special movement and the clip is perfectly aligned in the body. It is heavy because it is made of metal as our DNA comes from the car,” Tritapepe said.

Pininfarina have long-established customers such as Ferrari and Maserati. Its services range from automotive to architecture, and from smart products to retail.
The PF Two pen design, meanwhile, is inspired from sports car.

Aside from the pens, writing accessories including notebook and notepad made of stone paper are available.

Stone paper is an ecological alternative to normal cellulose paper that does not involve cutting down trees or using water and/or aggressive chemicals, supporting the environment and its protection.
