DOHA: Under the patronage of Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah bin Thani Al Thani, the Organization of Russian Compatriots in Qatar yesterday celebrated the New Year at Ezdan Hotel.
The celebration was dedicated to children and attended by Sheikh Ali, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Qatar, Nurmahkhmad, and Russian counselor, Andres Togrov, and a large number of Russian community members. The event, which continued from 10am to 5pm, included entertainment and educational shows and cultural activities for children of the community.
“It is my pleasure to attend this annual event and the shows reflect that concerted efforts has been made to present such excellent performances which created happiness and pleasure among the audiences, particularly children”.
Caring about children and making them happy is a pleasant act, he added, saying Qatar and Russia enjoyed a relationship and their ties were strong. He said he hoped there would be further cooperation in different fields — economic, cultural and educational.
