Riyadh: Saudi Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Osama bin Abdulaziz Al Zamil said that the year 2023 will witness a powerful launch to activate the National Strategy for Industry in his country that aims to triple the industrial domestic product, to reach SAR 895 billion.
In a panel discussion held on Monday under the theme 'National Industry and its Role to Face Risks' during the events of the Budget 2023 Forum, Al Zamil added that the strategy intends to double the value of industrial exports to reach SAR 557 billion.
In his closing remarks at the panel discussion, the Saudi Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources explained that the value of investments in the industrial sector reached SAR 1.3 trillion, indicating that the National Strategy for Industry included the announcement of rolling out over 800 investment opportunities with an amount of SAR 1 trillion, in addition to updating tens of thousands of high-value of qualitative jobs. He noted that the number of factories before laying out the Saudi Vision 2030 was 7,000 factories, while after the launch of the vision, the number reached over 10,000 factories.
