DOHA: Qatar Exchange continued its bull run when the bourse resumed trading after the Eid holidays yesterday. The benchmark index climbed 66.2 points or 0.67 percent to 9,913.84 points.
The market is up 18.60 percent year-to-date. Market capitalisation rose to QR544.48bn.
Among the top gainers were Qatar National Bank, Industries Qatar, Doha Bank and Qatar Fuel. Qatar National Bank was up 1.98 percent to QR180. Industries Qatar gained 0.63 percent to QR161. Doha Bank gained 2.80 percent to QR55 and Qatar Fuel edged by 4.22 percent to QR286.60. The volume of the shares traded decreased to 5.6m from 5.7m of the last trading day on August 7. The value of shares decreased to QR318m from QR555m.
The Banking and Financial sector index increased 1.30 percent while Consumer Goods and Services sector index gained 2.85 percent and Industrial sector up 0.42 percent. The Insurance and telecoms rose 1.16 percent and 0.08 percent. Transportation index rose 0.29 percent while real estate dropped 0.61 percent.
The 20-stock Total Return Index gained 0.67 percent to 14,164.6 points. The All Share Index was up by 0.89 percent to 2,501.93 points and Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 0.21 percent to 2,838.79 points. The Peninsula
