Doha: The Ministry of Labour participated in a meeting on protecting workers from heat stress, which was organized virtually by the Greek Ministry of Labor.
The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) office in Qatar and social partners took part in the meeting.
The event aimed to exchange expertise and best practices on the subject, given the State of Qatar’s experience in the field.
The meeting praised cabinet decision no. 17 issued in June, 2021, which used the world’s biggest field study on the subject carried out by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the ILO and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
The ministry reviewed the most important measures stated in the cabinet decision, including increasing the period of banning work in open spaces during the summer, and the positive impact it had on enhancing vocational health and safety of workers in the State of Qatar.
