Doha: The joint Russian-Qatari Business Council held here today a meeting with participation of a number of Qatari businessmen and their Russian counterparts in order to set up partnerships and strengthen common cooperation between the two parties.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohammed Bin Ahmed Bin Towar al Kuwari stressed that relations between Qatar and Russia are witnessing a remarkable development of the partnership in many areas, most notably the economic and sport sectors.
He noted that work is focusing on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in infrastructure and gas sector projects, saying the volume of trade exchange in 2014 reached $ 501 million, expressing hope that the Council would reach to effective partnerships between businessmen of the two countries in favor of increasing trade volume to reach levels worthy of the aspirations of the two peoples.
For his part, Chairman of the Russian-Qatar Business Council Umar Dzhabrailov said that both countries have unlimited human and natural potential and that the time had come to contribute to push relations ahead at all economic levels, stressing his country willingness to overcome all obstacles in order to achieve this goal.
Meanwhile, HE Russia's Ambassador to Qatar Noor Mohammad Julov expressed his pride to attend the meeting which constitutes one of the Russian-Qatari joint committee meeting results that was held in last March, hoping that the visit achieved its objectives towards creating productive partnerships for both sides and that the positive results will help to achieve further cooperation.
