DOHA: Qatar National Bank (QNB) yesterday announced to have become the first in Qatar to introduce a more self-service convenience technology ‘NCR Aptra Interactive Teller Machine’ from NCR Corporation, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies.
With the new technology customers can perform secure transactions without using a traditional ATM card, and, like branch tellers, remote tellers can provide them access to cash withdrawal/deposit from/to their accounts in amounts over the standard ATM daily withdrawal limits.
The Interactive Teller technology at QNB’s Al Sadd branch, which is powered with an interactive touch screen, allows a live teller to take remote control of an ATM to assist customers with up to 95 percent of traditional transactions completed by tellers in a branch.
Customers can take advantage of the enhanced technology which started yesterday at Al Sadd Branch, which is open from Sunday to Thursday from 7.30am to 1pm.
The launch of the software is part of QNB’s efforts to find creative solutions to exceed its customers’ expectations. The Interactive Teller offers additional services that can be conducted on an ATM or other self-service devices.
In addition to cheque deposit and encashment, the Interactive Teller will provide customers with adequate privacy and security to execute transactions using private touch screens via secured video and voice communication sessions to be recorded for quality service.
Customers can have private conversations by using the private handset on the Interactive Teller Machine or by plugging in their personal headset.
“The Interactive Teller is a strategic investment for QNB, as it cost-effectively delivers a new face-to-face branch teller experience to our customers via the Interactive Teller anywhere anytime,” said Heba Al Tamimi, General Manager, Group Retail, QNB.
“Designed to provide remote assisted service, the Interactive Teller is planned to enable our customers to carry out the entire branch banking transactions at the ATM, and that allows us to get closer to them and offer them an unrivalled experience.”
The Interactive Teller will allow customers to execute all branch banking services, such as cash withdrawals above the daily limit of a standard ATM, cash deposits, cheque deposits and encashments, credit card payments, money transfers and others beyond the traditional branch banking hours.
“The Interactive Tellers enable the migration of routine, expensive transactions from the teller counter at the branch to the Interactive Teller Machine channel, giving financial institutions the combined benefits of personalised services, lower processing costs, faster transacting and smaller footprint branches,” said George Flouros, NCR Region Vice-President, Financial Solutions.
“QNB will now be able to give its customers live face-to-face interaction with experienced tellers at the Interactive Teller Machine, delivering a highly personalised, differentiated experience any time of day or night,” he added.
