Doha: The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, H E Victor Tsvirkun met yesterday with Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) General Manager Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti to discuss ways to enhance cultural ties for both organisations.
The Ambassador has also gifted Al Sulaiti a painting by Nicolae Baciu, a Moldovan artist. It is a portrayal of a horse and a falcon.
In a message, H E Tsvirkun said he had great pleasure to meet Dr. Al Sulaiti. He also congratulated the general manager on the recently conducted Katara International Arabian Horse Festival which concluded on Saturday. "The event was amazing,” the Ambassador said.
The Ambassador also thanked for bringing his country’s artists to participate in the festival’s painting competitions on horses. Nicolae Baciu, a painter from Moldova was invited to join the festival’s workshops, exhibitions and painting competitions. This is the first time he joined the Arabian Horse Festival.
Prior to this, he has exhibited in Katara in 2021 together with other eight artists entitled “Connections” which is the first ever exhibition of Moldovan contemporary painting in Qatar. Among the other artists include Sergiu Cuciuc, Vladimir Palamarciuc, Mihai Țăruș, Simion Zamșa, Veaceslav Fisticanu, Igor Svernei, Iaroslav Strelet, and Tudor Zbârnea.
