DOHA: Saeed Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki owned Al Jeali recorded a runaway victory in the Britha Cup at the Al Rayyan race track yesterday.
Thumal Al Naif -ridden by Stephan Ladjadj - finished the QR80,000 race in second spot.
In third place was Bin Amer - owned by Mohammed Hamad Al Attiyah.
Al jeali was guided home by jockey Mark Lawson in the 1700m dirt race.
In today’s action at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (REC), seven races will be held.
Barzan Cup is the feature race of the day.
The prize money on offer is QR 125,000, organisers said.
The dirt track race will be for thoroughbreds and run across a distance of 1600m.
