DOHA: The second edition of Katara Arts Forum, entitled “Transformation of the Arabic arts” was launched yesterday at the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara.
“Hosting the event for the second consecutive year is aligned to the vision of the Cultural Village Foundation in spreading awareness about the cultural movement that contributes to encouraging creative potentials,” said Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.
“Katara as a cultural edifice and meeting place for artists and intellectuals, leaves no stone unturned in the provision of all the required factors that enhance the creativity and excellence and relate the Arabic arts to its roots and collective identity,” he added.
Discussion on the first session focused on the transformation of Arabic artistic institutions, Arab art market between transformation polarization and industry and art critic and historians. The second session of the forum revolved on trend controversy and artistic groups, Arab art market between transformation polarization and industry and transformation in the history of Arabic art.
