Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecast unsettled weather conditions during the weekend.
According to its weather charts, QMD stated that the country will be affected by southeasterly to southwesterly wind during daytime on Thursday. The wind speeds will range between 15-25 KT gusting to 30 KT at places at times. This will also lead to blowing dust with a rise in maximum temperature between 25 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
Cold weather at night will continue during the weekend and northwesterly winds are expected to blow from fresh to strong in speed during Thursday evening until the beginning of next week. Wind speeds will range between 12-22 KT gusting more than 28 KT in some areas sometimes inshore and gusting to 33 KT offshore.
Wave heights will also range between 5-8 ft and rising to 11 ft at places. QMD also stated that the northwest winds are likely to be accompanied by dusty weather with a dip in temperature with its maximum ranging between 19-26 degrees Celsius and minimum will range between 9-18 degrees Celsius.
In the same report, QMD stated that clouds will likely increase in the country over the weekend leading to partly cloudy weather conditions with chances of scattered rain, may be thundery offshore, on Thursday and Friday.
The Department urges all citizens and residents to take extra precautions during this weather conditions.
