Qatar National Sprint: Chebli, Serre shine in second round

Doha: The second round of the 2025 Qatar National Sprint, hosted by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation delivered high-octane competition yesterday with drivers from across the region showcasing their talent. In Class O1, seasoned Lebanese driver Mansour Chebli clinched the win in a Renault Clio with a 47.633-second lap, narrowly beating compatriot Charbel Chebli. Qatar’s Fakhreddine Bejaoui came third. 

In Class O2, Jad Alawar topped the timesheets in his Mitsubishi Evo 8, while Amro Abdulla came second in a Subaru STR. Class O3 featured a thrilling battle, with Maher Serre securing the first place at 52.663 in his Nissan 350Z, ahead of Mubarak Shabib and Faisal Al Yafei who finished in second and third places respectively.
The production classes also delivered thrilling action. In P1, Mansour Chebli took his second win of the day, edging out Charbel Chebli and Nadim Ziade. 

Meanwhile, P2 saw Serre victorious again, this time driving a Porsche Cayman GTS. Class P3 was won by Francesco Fornaciari in his Lotus Exige, while Hassan and Abdulla Al Abbasi came second and third respectively. Qatar’s women racers shone as well, led by Nasmee’a Christian in her Subaru BRZ with a best lap of 59.900. Meriem Addad’s followed in second in her Golf R, capping off an intense day of action.

The Qatar National Sprint season now heads to a long break before the action resumes on September 5.
