Doha: A new hi-tech camera, which will be capable of detecting many traffic violations, will be installed at intersections in Doha.
The French brand, Mesta Fusion, can detect many violations, which is otherwise not detected by normal speed cameras.
In addition to speed and red light enforcement capabilities, Mesta Fusion paves the way to many added-value additional functions thanks to the trajectory analysis.
It does what traditional speed cameras do like detecting speeding, jumping red signals etc. But what makes it special are the extra functions like detecting tailgating, stopping in the yellow box at signal, illegal u-turn, illegal overtaking and changing lanes at intersections.
Powerful combination of the latest technologies, Mesta Fusion integrates a non-intrusive multi-target tracking radar technology and a high resolution camera performing perfectly well over multiple traffic lanes.
This new system being tried out in Qatar can also keep an eye if enough space is left between vehicles.
A traffic department official from the Ministry of Interior said that Mesta Fusion can take high quality pictures of violations with very high accuracy and speed.
The new system was unveiled by the traffic department at the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion in the 33rd GCC Taffic Week at Darb Al-Saei.
