Alsharbatly tops Big Tour, Haidan wins in Open Class

Doha: Abdullah Alsharbatly, partnering with Quisandro, put on a stunning display to clinch the Big Tour victory as the ninth round of Longines Hathab came to a thrilling conclusion at Al Shaqab on Saturday night.

The pair was outstanding in the jump off of the 150cm contest clocking a perfect 34.79 seconds to bag the title at Longines Outdoor Arena. 

The only other rider to qualify for the jump off, Cyrine Cherif astride Triple T Calamando Blue, had to settle for second place after a time of 37.75 seconds.

Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi, who picked up four penalties in the opening round, was third after a time of 64.51 seconds with Kryptonight.

Earlier, Hussain Saeed Haidan and Viahipi d'Auzay delivered a flawless show to win the Open Class 125cm with a time of 50.03 seconds. Khaled Al Hadi, who rode Capoen in 53.46 seconds, was runner-up while Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber, aboard Lisa Perina F, clocked 55.32 seconds to secure third place on the podium. 

During the dressage competitions at Longines Indoor Arena, Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari partnered with Jack Sparrow to seal the C 11 - Dressage - Medium Test 1 title after earning 71.061 points.

Saoud Ahmed Al Boinin and 16-year-old mare Cacique topped the C 10 - Dressage - Elementary Test 2 after registering 66.806 points while Abdulla Khalid Al Julandani (H'amour D Caramel Vh Bloemenhof) won the C 9 - Dressage - Preliminary Test 3. Maryam Khalid Al Marikhi and Rociero displayed winning performance in the C 8 - Dressage - Introductory Test 2.
