Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber (QC) recently took part in the Manafea International Forum, organised by the Madinah Chamber in cooperation with the Makkah Chamber and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development ICCD under the theme “Sustainability in Serving the Guests of God.” The forum’s opening was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Amir of Madinah Region.
The Chamber’s delegation was led by QC Chairman and Vice President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, and included Board members Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Emadi, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Jaleel Al Abdul Ghani, and Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamad.
The Chamber’s delegation also participated in the 38th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development.
The meeting addressed various topics related to enhancing trade cooperation among Islamic countries and strengthening the role of the private sector in economic activity, contributing to increased trade exchange within the Islamic world.
The agenda included following up on the implementation of the decisions issued by the Board of Directors and the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber, adopting the report of the 69th meeting of the Finance Committee, preparing for the elections of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber for the next session 2026-2030.
During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on the development of the Islamic Chamber Academy, along with another presentation on deepening the concept of halal within the Islamic Chamber’s 2026-2033 strategy.
The aim is to establish an integrated halal ecosystem, transforming it into a global industry encompassing products and services.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Federation of GCC Chambers and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The agreement was signed by the Secretary General of the FGCCC, Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, and the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber, Yousef Hassan Al Khalawi.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between both parties in organizing events, supporting SMEs, and encouraging innovation and digital transformation in GCC countries.
