An exciting weekend awaits the residents of Qatar as the Amir Cup final takes place today, along with many other interesting events happening in town like Ramadan Market, Garangao celebration, sweets festival and many more.

Amir Cup finals & Al Wakrah Stadium inauguration

The country as a whole is excited and geared up for the Amir Cup finals that will be hosted at the to be inaugurated Al Wakrah Stadium tonight. In case you have not been unable to grab the tickets for the sold out finals, there is no need to fret as the grand event will be telecast live.

Garangao night celebration

Doha Festival City will be hosting Garangao Night Celebration, for visitors of the mall, the event includes many activities for adults and children like storytelling, crafts workshop and Henna Art across the mall.

Ramadan Market at DECC

DECC will be hosting a grand Ramadan Market for the Holy Month of Ramadan. With more than 200 stall from over 25 countries with 15 plus food and beverage options and a fun zone for children, this is a must visit Ramadan Market.

Clay Art for Ramadan

Qatar National Library will host a clay art session for children and adults. A session organised where everyone could give wings to their artistic and creative side. "Think outside the box, make your own clay art, add some color, and enjoy bringing your own art to life," said the QNL statement.

The Ramadan Timings for the library are 9 am to 4 pm and it will be closed on Fridays.

This is an open event; RSVP is not required

Katara Ramadan Chess Open Championship 

The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara opened the Katara Ramadan Open Chess Championship at building 15, with the participation of 102 professional international chess players.

The competition will be based on the Swiss system within the so-called classic chess, where the competition will extend to 7 rounds, as one round will take more than an hour.

The championship this year also offers much bigger prizes, the first 10 places are awarded while the winner in the first place will get QR6,000.

Calligraphy, art, puppets and more at Mall of Qatar

Mall of Qatar is hosting activities for children and adults throughout the holy month of Ramadan. Kids are invited to learn Arabic calligraphy, create prayer pads, lanterns, puppets and much more in an arts and crafts area. A henna station is also available dedicated to creating beautiful designs for visitors of all ages.

Mall of Qatar also offers Arabic coffee and dates to the visitors daily from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and 9.30pm to 11.30pm.

Tehlaya Festival

The Tehlaya festival aims at offering all types of desserts, beverages and coffee in the holy month of Ramadan.

The festival also includes many activities like Al Musaharati (Drum Beater), chef on stage daily with a new recipe and special activities for adults and children on the night of Garangao.
