Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), in partnership with Qatar Charity and the Friends of the Environment Center, has launched a training programme titled “Our Planet, Our Responsibility.”
The programme aims to discuss the latest developments in environmental issues and showcase the most critical humanitarian and economic solutions at the student level for the sustainability of our planet.
The programme targets middle school students (both boys and girls) and their parents. Twenty boys’ and twenty girls’ middle schools participated, as well as five students accompanied by a supervisor from each school.
The programme also aims to enhance environmental awareness among students, develop research and scientific thinking skills, and increase community projects while providing environmental solutions. It includes the participation of 20 boys’ middle schools and 20 girls’ middle schools, with 5 students accompanied by a supervisor from each school.
The programme encompasses acquiring skills to assess the environmental reality, scientifically analyze surrounding problems, plan environmental activities within the school setting, and evaluate mechanisms and impact measurement.
On this occasion, Maryam Al Nasf Al Buainain, Director of the Schools and Students Affairs Department at MoEHE, emphasised the ministry’s commitment to participating in this programme.
She explained that participation aims to raise awareness among individuals and the local community about their responsibilities towards protecting the environment in all its forms.
Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Hajri, Director of the Programs and Community Development Department at Qatar Charity, expressed his pride in launching the “Our Planet, Our Responsibility” program in collaboration with the ministry.
He emphasised the importance of enhancing environmental awareness among students and developing their scientific and research skills to address the growing environmental challenges.
