Qatar to witness gradual rise in temperatures

Doha, Qatar: Starting today, June 17, 2024, Qatar will witness a rise in temperatures until the end of this week. 

Qatar Meteorology Department stated this on its social media as it shared a temperature forecast map with the entirety of Qatar coloured in shades of red.  

The department said that the rise in temperature will continue until the end of this week, with the temperatures ranging between 41 degree Celsius and 48 degree Celsius across the country. 

Ministry of Public Health on its social media has been educating its followers with tips on managing heat stress. 

Some of them include: 
- Drink cool water every 15 minutes. 
- Avoid, tea, coffee, energy drinks and soft drinks. 
- Schedule more frequent work breaks during work.  
- Eat right, eat light. 
- Wear light, loose clothing.
- Keep your head covered when outdoors. 

Ministry also called on individuals to look out for signs of medical emergency, which include abnormal thinking or behaviour, slurred speech, seizures and loss of consciousness. In case such a scenario is noticed, 999 should be called immediately. It also added that such a person should be moved immediately to cooler area, and cool down the person's body with water, ice or fan.
